Booma Oil
Booma Oil has been keeping North Shore residents warm for more than 75 years. Some longtime customers still remember us as Booma-Breed. That’s because Roland Booma, our grandfather, founded our company with Dick Breed in 1933. After the partnership was dissolved, we became Booma Oil.
In 1933, many homes were still heated with coal. Heating oil was the latest thing, and it quickly took hold as the home heating fuel of choice. Roland Booma worked until just before his death in 1976, and he passed the company to his son-in-law, Ferdinand (Ted) Carangelo. Today, the company is run by his daughter Lisa Carangelo and his son Theodore (Theo) Carangelo.
Today Booma is one of the largest family-owned oil heating companies on Boston's North Shore, serving almost 3000 customers in Lynn, Swampscott, Saugus, Lynnfield, Marblehead and surrounding towns. Many of our customers have been with us for many years. They have come to trust Booma for providing a quality product and excellent service at a fair price.
All of our technicians are certified, licensed and trained to tackle just about any heating or cooling system challenge. Our service manager has been with us for over 40 years, and he has literally seen it all. We like to think that we are small enough offer our customers personal service, yet large enough to offer them the expertise and equipment they expect from a larger company.
Booma is ideally located for ready access to a virtually unlimited supply of heating oil. With six delivery trucks and convenient automatic delivery, our customers never run dry. Thanks to our long term relationship with a nearby fuel distributor, we receive priority service. This gives Booma customers an advantage if there is ever a temporary supply disruption.
Booma prices are very competitive, but we are not a heating oil discounter. Nor are we an impersonal multi-state oil corporation. We are a full-service, family-owned company with a strong sense of commitment and responsibility to our customers. When you call our office, you will probably speak to the same person you spoke with last month, and there’s a good chance it might even be one of the owners. Some of our customers even stop by our office on Summer Street in Lynn to pay their bills in person.
